Merry Christmas!

The family and I have been up in San Angelo for an early Christmas celebration these last two days. It got down to 27 degrees this morning! It felt great. We are enjoying our time (as always) up here. We are grateful for family, the food and so much fun. It's amazing to watch our kids interact with their cousins.

Amanda and I just got back from the mall where I was able to "spend" my Academy gift card. I finally got a pair of pants Amanda has been wanting me to get. If they make momma happy then I'm happy. I don't know what I would do without my wife. :)

We drove up into the parking lot of the mall and got out. As soon as we got out of the vehicle we see this 18 year old looking male sprint by us with what looked like an Xbox in his hand. We put two and two together and realized the guy stole something from Best Buy. So automatically I went into "cop mode." Before I knew it, he hops into a blue Chevy Cavalier and made a get away. No one else saw him and what little information I gave the security guard at Best Buy about the guy and the car wasn't too helpful. The young man might have gotten away with a new "toy" and eluded man. Yet, he was under the watchful eye of a holy God. I pray the young man and his accomplices turn from their ways before its too late.

This morning we attended Glen Meadows Baptist Church in San Angelo with my Dad. Man, I enjoyed the service. I normally don't get "into" Christmas carols but today was really special. I can honestly say I worshipped Emmanuel today! The pastor preached out of the gospel of Mark. The message was right on and the challenge cut deep. Jesus didn't primarily rescue us from Satan...but from God's holy wrath. We all find ourselves in the hands of a holy God in need of being rescued from our sins. Jesus was the Rescuer. What a Savior! O how I'm not worthy.

Merry Christmas...
